About

What is the European Summit?

  • a growing international event in its fourth year
  • a thriving community of changemakers, social entrepreneurs, and supporters
  • part of a global movement for sustainability and social entrepreneurship
  • a budding organization designed to connect and facilitate the efforts of its participants

Some conferences are about sharing ideas and listening to famous keynote speakers.  This is not a sit-and-listen kind of group.  This is what happens when you get a group of committed people together to share resources, pool knowledge, engage in conversation and move forward together.

The European Summit inspires, connects and creates breakthrough actions for its participants – entrepreneurs and activists worldwide. It is a Friday night through Sunday afternoon event held  annually in the Netherlands.

Our specialty is building bridges between people of diverse backgrounds with varied skills, shared interests and mutual admiration.  We create and facilitate productive working relationships. Passions are rekindled; commitments spoken aloud, new actions made not only possible but probable.

Everyday People, Extraordinary Results

Maggie Doyne, KVCH Surkhet, Nepal Letha Sandison, Wrap Up Africa

We’re a small group of everyday individuals with tremendous vision and the ability to produce results. We bridge generations and geographies. Two TED Fellows, several Huffington Post authors, award-winning educators, entrepreneurs, artists and authors participate.  Speakers are participants, participants are speakers. We’re philanthropists and funders, entrepreneurs, people who offer a wide array of support services and expertise.

The European Summit provides an opportunity to articulate dreams and make them reality, to connect to your own purpose on the planet. This is a working weekend, designed to highlight what one ordinary, committed person can create on the planet, and amplify that impact by connecting him/her into a network of skilled and like-minded people.

The European Summit Story

It all started in a San Francisco Starbuck’s. In May 2006, a group of European friends wondered, “What would happen if we got together everyone we know who’s up to big things?” They invited friends. Friends invited other friends. The European Summit for Global Transformation has happened completely through word-of-mouth. Imagine combining the power of the social grid, like facebook, with the global movement for social entrepreneurship and transformation. Four years later the results have exceeded everyone’s expectations, not in size but impact. We’ve stayed small and become increasingly global. People from 23 countries participated last year.

Who’s behind the European Summit?

The European Summit has been run for four years as an all-volunteer effort. We’ve couldn’t have done it without a whole host of generous and skilled people. Check out our international Advisory Board and Executive Team.

Come join us! Share your story, your vision for the future, your specific projects. We’ll move it forward any way we can. As a group, there is little we can’t do.
